Volleyball players honored at 16th Haveeru Sports Awards Ceremony

“Haveeru” the largest and most popular Daily News paper of Maldives held its 16th Haveeru Sports Awards Ceremony at “Dharubaaruge Rannabandeyri Maalam” on Saturday 13th February.

Ashfag Adam  (known as Akkalhey), who was a key player of Maldives National Team, played Semifinals in the last 11th South Asian Games in Dhaka, picked up Male Volleyball Player of the Year Award, whilst Aishath Nazima of Police Club picked up the female award.

Haveeru Volleyball Player of the year- Men, to award the most outstanding Volleyball player of the season was introduced in 2001.

This year the selected player receives Haveeru Trophy and Cash Prize of MRF 20,000.00

The top 5 Players in each category and the winner were selected by a special committee made up of administrators, coaches and referees.
