Police Club strikes gold for a fourth consecutive time

Police Club prevailed against Dhivehi Sifainge Club in a four-set battle for the women’s gold medal at DOUBLE SIX ZERO ZERO Volleyball Cup 2010 on Friday as the tournament for women’s division concluded in Youth Centre Indoor Hall.

It is the fourth gold medal, for Police Club who previously won the top place in the 2007, 2008 and 2009 editions.

The bronze medal went to STARS Team by loosing against the Silver medalist Dhivehi Sifainge Club in the Semi final match in straight sets.

 “It was a great final match and all the credit for the success of this tournament goes to the players, team officials and the coaching staff of all the teams. All of them did a great job,” Ilyas Ahmed, Vice President of VAM said.

Trophies and Certificates were awarded by the Guest of Honor for the final match, Mr Shah Ismail , General Secretary of Football Association of Maldives.

Final match of Men’s Division will be played on Saturday Night at Youth Centre Indoor Hall.
