NSA Ramadan Volleyball Activities for 2012 ended today with the final match of WATANYA NSA RAMADAN PARK VOLLEYBALL Tournament.
In today’s match Police Family Association (PFA) won the match against Stadium Team (SDT) with a tie results. The Stadium team secured the first set while the second and third sets turned to PFA. But, again the fourth set won by SDT resulted a deciding set which favored the Championship on PFA side.
After the final match, trophies medals and certificates were distributed by the VAM EXCO Member Mr Ai Latheef and VAM EXCO Member Uz Mohamed Mujuthaz (Also a Member of the Parliment).
In this years Ramadan volleyball activities, there were eight teams. It started with the WATANYA NSA RAMADAN VOLLEY Pool on 3rd day of Ramadan (22 July). The eight teams had a round-robin pool play which continued on every day for 45 minutes of play. At the end of the 45 minutes the team who scored the highest wins the match for that day.
And later on 6th August the Pool play came to an end and, the team who achieved the highest score was awarded as the Pool Champions
Number of teams at the Pool and the Tournament was limited to eight. And they were Police Family Association, Stadium team, Half Linkage, Orchid Sports, Youth New Generation, All star, KH Falladdey, Youth Boys.
At the end of the Pool play teams were ranked as follows:

After a day-break, the Tournament matches started on 8th August. The teams were seeded as per the Pool ranks and two groups were formed as follows. Two winners from each group met on a two semi finals and approached to the Finals.

NSA has been organizing Ramadan Volleyball Activities in Male for more than 35 years. And still it is fully directed and supervised by the Director of NSA and the Hon. President of Maldives Olympic Committee Mr MOHAMED ZAHIR NASEER.
After the awarding ceremony Mr Mohamed Muhuthaz, VAM EXCO Member commented, “It is a privilege for me to participate in today’s event. In deed Mr ZAHIR is a Sports LEGEND in the Maldives. His dedication to sports and especially to volleyball cannot be measured. “. Mr Mujuthaz also added that VAM will always be with Mr ZAHIR in assisting to conduct and organized such event to the development of Maldives Volleyball and in general Maldives Sports”.
The final match and the closing ceremony was attended by Vice President, General Secretary, Tresuere and some other Exco members of VAM.
